Functional Fun For Fastener Freaks.
I am Andy Pels and I have been a fastener freak since just after I was hired as a packager in 1985 at the now-defunct fastener distributor, Diaco Inc. in Concord, CA . I just needed a part time job, mostly for girlfriend money, since I was still living at home while going to college. It was my introduction to the whole fastener industry – and I never got out.I finished my biz degree at the prestigious Cal State Hayward (now fantastically named California State University, East Bay) and stayed on at Diaco in outside sales. Later came another distributor, and another, and one more. I am still technically in outside sales, but I like to think of myself as a fastener marketing student. There are many areas where I believe the fastener distribution industry can do some cool things. Yes, I mostly post screwy stuff, but when I have more time I hope to find and share some industry ideas here. I hope other fastener freaks will join my quest to bring New Marketing (whatever that really is) to the fastener distribution industry.
Please comment on the blog or email me at andypels [at] screwcrew [dot] com with any fastener-related wisdom.
