Oh yes, that is the question posed in this nice artwork.

  • I’ve got a case of bifurcated rivets.

It sounds like a malady, but it’s a cool little fastener tin.  A good deal, but ships from UK.  I like the seller’s description, so I am copying it here:

“A handy little tin advertising Aylesbury Brand Bifurcated Rivets.

It dates to the late 19th or early 20th cenntury and once held 100 No. 6 rivets. At present there are just six!

Nice graphics and a double duck logo in orange, red and black with a good aged patina all over. Instructions for use are printed on the inside lid. It measures 3 1/4″ by 2 1/4″ and is 3/4″ high. Opens and closes nicely.

Interesting to note that the company is still in production to this day!”

  • Old Nut and Bolt Drawers Could Have Many Uses

    Date: 2011.10.27 | Category: Fastener Fun | Response: 0

Okay – maybe I’m getting a little weird(er), but these look like a few of them could even make a nice lobby display for some fastener freak’s office.  I know, I know, the descriptions on the fronts are not to IFI standards, but that sort of adds to the charm, right?

  • Get some yardage. Two yards of Nut & Bolt Fabric.

This would be good for any fastener freak who can sew.  Or maybe just use it for a weird scarf or a little table cloth if you can’t sew.

  • Brian Musker the Visionary

Date: 2011.10.08 | Category: Fastener Fun, Fastener Industry | Response: 0

Back in April of this year, Brian Musker told me about how useful he finds Siri, and app for his iPhone.  He helpfully suggested that I see if there is an Android version for my phone since I do not have an iPhone.  Of course there is not.  I think he knew that and just wanted to gloat.  So now there is a bunch of talk about the new iPhone 4S and this great thing called Siri.  I just want to point out that Brian was on to the whole Siri thing a long time ago (6 months is a long time in Tech).

Here is a video sort of showing how it works

My twelve year old son heard me playing the video and turned away from his computer to ask, “Is that GLaDOS?”  I had no idea what he was talking about, but he was kind enough to explain.

  • Fully Threaded Radio all the way, baby! They are just too quick for me.

As I explained to my pal Eric Dudas, I have been doing so well catching up on the day job, I’ve been neglecting the fun stuff and friends.  I realize that while FTR is fun, it is always chock full of important fastener industry information.  So while I must admit I haven’t even listened to this newest Fully Threaded Radio episode, I will do so post haste!
