I was just exploring some Google products and found this as part of Google Voice. It makes it so you can add a voicemail link to a web page. If a visitor wants to leave you voicemail, they click on it, type in their phone number, and your voicemail calls them, offering to connect if they press “1″. I thought I’d give it a try.

I have seen some images online of some of these screw sculptures, but this article at TwistedSifter.com has some great photos that really capture what this guy is up to, along with some very interesting information about this award-winning artist who is smart enough to use fasteners in some fantastic forms.

People have been soldering, brazing and welding fasteners together into shapes for a long time. This one seems to take it a step (or ten) further. Very nice looking and well done. If you can swing the 200 bucks, it would be very cool. I think it is modeled after a Doberman, so if you are a Fastener Freak with a Doberman, well…

It sounds like a malady, but it’s a cool little fastener tin. A good deal, but ships from UK. I like the seller’s description, so I am copying it here:

“A handy little tin advertising Aylesbury Brand Bifurcated Rivets.

It dates to the late 19th or early 20th cenntury and once held 100 No. 6 rivets. At present there are just six!

Nice graphics and a double duck logo in orange, red and black with a good aged patina all over. Instructions for use are printed on the inside lid. It measures 3 1/4″ by 2 1/4″ and is 3/4″ high. Opens and closes nicely.

Interesting to note that the company is still in production to this day!”
