Thanks Roy. I think you actually helped me get them fixed. I used your reply to help figure out how to recreate them manually.

Wow. That is an amazing speech. How old is your son? 45? (kidding!) It is just flawless. Full of risk. And humor. And heart. (I nominate those 3 to replace dignity, tradition and grace.) Please tell me that Stanford is paying your son to go there. That's how it should be.
Like Roy, the commenter before me, a standing ovation.

Wow - I hope your son is as proud of himself as you must be. That's a *fantastic* speech. I'm sending the link to my 12-year-old son, who is much like your son describes himself. Good for him, and kudos to you and his mom: you clearly did a great job!

WOW.

As I finished the last line of this speech, I found myself standing up and applauding (I do that sometime).

People are afraid. People were taught to be factory workers in the sense of following orders and listening to the chain of command. We are taught not to challenge authority and come up with a better idea. We are taught to be like everyone else.

But we are not. We are not everyone else. We look different for a reason so we can be different and add something different to this world. We all have stories to share and should share them. It may be uncomfortable to stand in front of strangers and propose an idea that might fail. It may be uncomfortable to challenge the status quo. Being a "freak" is where it's all at. If you are not uncomfortable and being a bit different, then you are not reaching the potential of being a leader. And if you found a leader with an idea that resonate with you, join him even if you are the first guy in the movement. It is because you that the movement will now take place. Because you gave credibility to the leader.

All this is hard and it is hard for a reason. We, the world. give credit to those who are the best. But to become the best, we make it hard for you. We put the best at top of the hill with a very steep hill. You need to climb that hill and it's gonna hurt. But it will separate those who really want it to those who say they want it.

I don't know you but I know you will do great things. Be a freak. Be a heretic. Stand for yourself. Good luck in Standford and keep making people laugh.
